Responsibilities
- Oversee the monthly and quarterly financial closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, in accordance with GAAP.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts to ensure data accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns and ensure full compliance with federal and state tax regulations.
- Conduct internal audits and variance analysis to identify financial risks and areas for improvement.
- Lead the month-end close process, coordinating with department heads to resolve discrepancies.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
