Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Oversee daily accounting operations, including the general ledger and accounts payable/receivable processes.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all reconciliations are completed and reported on time.
- Cost Accounting: Analyze variances and provide insights to management regarding cost control and profitability.
- Compliance & Audits: Assist with external and internal audits, ensuring all documentation is organized and accessible.
- Tax Preparation: Support the tax team with federal, state, and local tax filings and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree or CPA/CMA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite) and MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
