Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare complex financial reports, variance analyses, and budget forecasts to assist senior management in decision-making processes.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly and annual bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and intercompany account reconciliations.
- Compliance & Tax: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; assist with quarterly and annual tax filings.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting workflows.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior staff members and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CMA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in general accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect errors and ensure high-quality output.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Integrity: High level of professional ethics and confidentiality.
