Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger accounts and oversee month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Streamline accounting workflows and implement internal controls to mitigate risk.
- Support budget preparation and variance analysis for department heads.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced MS Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
- CPA certification is highly preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
