Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes with journal entries and reconciliations
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable functions and optimize working capital
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and SOX requirements
- Lead financial audits and collaborate with external auditors
- Develop and maintain accounting systems and internal controls
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes for executive leadership
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sector
- Expert knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial reporting standards
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables) and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience managing multi-state operations and tax compliance
- Excellent communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration
