Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting processes including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze financial statements ensuring GAAP compliance and accuracy
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and tax compliance
- Develop financial models and forecasts to support business decision-making
- Lead internal audits and implement process improvements for efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting and strategic planning
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations (VA-specific)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance with 5+ years of experience
- CPA license or active pursuit required
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and advanced Excel functions
- Expertise in financial reporting standards and tax regulations
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience managing accounting teams and mentoring staff
- Knowledge of Virginia Beach business tax environment
