Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Accountant to join our remote-first finance team in San Diego, CA. This is a fully remote position offering competitive compensation and flexible work arrangements. Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including GL maintenance, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with variance explanations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with auditors during annual reviews and implement internal controls
- Develop financial models for forecasting and budgeting initiatives
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process optimization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance with CPA certification required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- Proven experience with multi-state tax compliance and intercompany transactions
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication abilities for cross-functional collaboration
- Remote work experience with demonstrated self-management capabilities
