Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements with detailed variance explanations
- Manage full-cycle accounting for diverse client portfolios across multiple industries
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes with strict adherence to GAAP
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable and payroll processing for 15+ clients
- Conduct internal audits and implement process improvements for operational efficiency
- Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
- Maintain organized financial records in QuickBooks and proprietary accounting software
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with public or corporate finance
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and financial reporting tools
- Demonstrated expertise in month-end closing processes and reconciliation
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Excellent communication skills for client-facing interactions
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements
- Virginia CPA license or actively pursuing certification
