Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including month-end closes, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities
- Prepare and submit accurate tax filings, payroll processing, and audit documentation
- Develop and implement internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements
- Maintain and optimize accounting systems (QuickBooks, SAP) for maximum efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process improvements initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Expert proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP) and Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Proven track record of process optimization and cost reduction
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder reporting and team collaboration
- Experience with multi-state accounting and weekly payroll cycles
