Responsibilities
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements, variance reports, and budgeting forecasts.
- Manage general ledger reconciliation and ensure all accounts are accurately maintained.
- Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns and coordinate with external auditors during audits.
- Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate risk and enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff members.
- Streamline accounting processes and software implementations to improve workflow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree (CPA/MBA) is a plus.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, preferably in the Minnesota region.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or eligible to sit for the CPA exam.
