As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our financial records, preparing financial reports, and supporting our leadership team with strategic financial analysis. Responsibilities
- Prepare and examine monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Manage and oversee the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate, complete, and timely.
- Perform complex account reconciliations for various accounts, including bank accounts, credit cards, and inter-company accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and provide variance analysis to management.
- Support the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and company policies.
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA certification is highly preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
