We're seeking a dynamic Senior Accountant to join our remote-first finance team at Memphis Financial Group. Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize general ledger operations, ensuring accurate financial records and reconciliations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analyses
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes with meticulous attention to detail
- Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Analyze financial trends and provide actionable insights to senior leadership
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives
- Manage tax compliance processes and coordinate external audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification required
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience with 2+ years in remote/virtual settings
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel, and ERP systems (Sage 100 preferred)
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial reporting standards
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights
- Proven track record of improving financial processes and reducing operational costs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to collaborate effectively in remote environments
- Experience with multi-state tax compliance and audit preparation
