Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including month-end closing, reconciliation, and financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with executive-level insights
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and tax compliance
- Develop and implement internal controls to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives
- Conduct audits and ensure adherence to GAAP and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting software systems
- Proven track record in financial reporting, reconciliation, and compliance
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder collaboration
- Virginia Beach-based candidates preferred; local knowledge a plus
