Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements ensuring GAAP compliance for federal clients
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes with strict adherence to federal reporting deadlines
- Conduct reconciliations for complex accounts including federal grants and cost allocations
- Develop and maintain internal controls supporting DCAA audit requirements
- Collaborate with audit teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth audit outcomes
- Maintain detailed documentation for federal compliance and FAR regulations
- Mentor junior accounting staff on financial best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with federal contracting
- Expert knowledge of DCAA, FAR, and federal grant accounting principles
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP)
- Proven ability to manage multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder reporting
