Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including GL maintenance, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable processes and ensure timely reconciliation
- Prepare detailed financial statements and variance analysis for executive review
- Coordinate internal and external audits while maintaining compliance with GAAP
- Implement and optimize accounting software systems and controls
- Lead tax preparation and filing processes for federal and state requirements
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public or private sector
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel with VBA knowledge
- Demonstrated experience with financial reporting and compliance standards
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder collaboration
- Colorado Springs local candidates preferred
