Responsibilities
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
- Manage general ledger accounting, including reconciling accounts, identifying variances, and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support executive decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and assist with external audits.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on best practices and procedures.
- Streamline accounting processes and implement internal controls to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting or finance.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
