Responsibilities
- Manage month-end/year-end closing processes with GAAP-compliant journal entries and reconciliations
- Lead financial statement preparation and variance analysis for executive leadership
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable cycles and payroll processing
- Coordinate external audits and ensure regulatory compliance (IRS, SEC)
- Implement process improvements using ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)
- Mentor junior accounting staff and cross-departmental financial initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle)
- Deep knowledge of Illinois tax regulations and federal compliance
- Proven experience managing SOX compliance and internal controls
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and deadlines
