Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance
- Prepare accurate financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flows) compliant with GAAP
- Conduct internal audits, variance analysis, and process improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Ensure regulatory compliance and implement internal controls for financial systems
- Lead tax preparation and documentation for federal/state filings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public or corporate settings
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and MS Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP)
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and Michigan tax regulations
- Proven experience with financial reporting, audits, and process optimization
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication abilities for stakeholder collaboration
