Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Prepare financial statements and compliance reports for federal agencies
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable processes with 100% accuracy
- Lead internal audits and implement process improvements
- Collaborate with executive team on budget forecasting and variance analysis
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and federal contracting regulations
- Mentor junior accounting staff and cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience in DC metro area
- Expertise in federal contracting compliance and FAR regulations
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Excel
- Demonstrated success with month-end closing processes
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines in urgent environments
