Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including month-end close, reconciliation, and financial reporting
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable and payroll processing for 50+ employees
- Prepare and analyze financial statements for executive leadership and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and IRS regulations for multi-state operations
- Lead internal audits and coordinate external CPA engagements
- Implement process improvements using QuickBooks Enterprise and Microsoft Dynamics
- Mentor junior accounting staff and cross-departmental financial training
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/Master's preferred)
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise and Excel (VBA a plus)
- Proven track record of managing month-end closes and reconciliations
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and Texas tax regulations
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with competing priorities
