Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements for diverse client portfolios
- Lead audit preparation processes and coordinate with external auditors
- Develop and implement streamlined accounting workflows using QuickBooks and Sage
- Provide strategic tax planning guidance to small and medium-sized businesses
- Mentor junior accountants and supervise accounting staff
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and California tax codes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, and Microsoft Excel
- Proven track record of managing month-end closes for 20+ clients
- Strong knowledge of California tax regulations and payroll compliance
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in deadline-driven environments with competing priorities
- Active CPA license or in final exam stages
