In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing general ledger operations, preparing complex financial statements, and ensuring full compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards. You will serve as a mentor to junior staff and act as a key liaison between the finance department and various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of general ledger accounting, including month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Perform complex account reconciliations and variance analysis to identify financial trends and risks.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure liquidity and vendor satisfaction.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Lead internal audits and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Mentor junior accountants and provide training on accounting policies and software usage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required; Master’s degree (MBA) or CPA certification is a strong plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Macros).
- Deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial findings to executive leadership.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
