Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounting processes including month-end closes and financial reporting
- Lead preparation and analysis of management accounts and variance reports
- Oversee VAT returns, payroll processing, and tax compliance
- Develop and implement robust internal controls and financial policies
- Collaborate with auditors during statutory audits and tax investigations
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process improvements
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
Qualifications
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent professional accounting qualification
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software (Sage/Xero)
- Demonstrated experience with UK GAAP and HMRC compliance
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proven track record of process optimization and financial controls implementation
