Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes including journal entries and reconciliations
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive financial statements adhering to UK GAAP standards
- Lead tax compliance initiatives including VAT returns, corporation tax, and payroll taxes
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with audit teams to facilitate smooth external reviews and implement recommendations
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process optimization
- Mentor junior accountants and provide guidance on complex accounting scenarios
Qualifications
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent professional accounting certification
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in public practice or corporate accounting
- Expertise in UK GAAP, IFRS, and HMRC compliance requirements
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Excel
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Proven track record of improving financial reporting processes and controls
- Strong communication skills with ability to present financial insights to non-finance stakeholders
- Experience managing remote teams or distributed work environments preferred
