Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes with meticulous attention to detail
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for multiple departments
- Develop and implement financial controls to mitigate risks and ensure regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide strategic financial insights for business decisions
- Manage audit processes and liaise with external auditors
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent professional accounting certification
- Minimum 5+ years of post-qualification experience in public practice or corporate finance
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software (Sage, Xero, or similar)
- Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, consolidation, and complex reconciliations
- Strong knowledge of UK tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Proven leadership experience in managing accounting teams
