Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly financial statements ensuring GAAP compliance
- Manage general ledger operations, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and expense management
- Develop financial models and variance analyses for strategic decision-making
- Coordinate external audits and ensure regulatory compliance across MD/VA jurisdictions
- Mentor junior accountants and process improvements initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience with remote work exposure
- Expertise in QuickBooks, NetSuite, and advanced Excel functions
- Proven track record in multi-state tax compliance (MD/VA focus)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to independently manage deadlines in a distributed team
- Excellent communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration
