Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports on a monthly basis.
- Manage daily accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings and ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements on a regular schedule to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite) to manage general ledger entries and financial data.
- Collaborate with the finance team to create budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support strategic decision-making.
- Conduct regular audits of financial records to ensure internal controls are functioning effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is a significant plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in general accounting or bookkeeping.
- Proven proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting software.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical problem-solving skills.
