Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure all financial transactions are properly documented and filed.
- Assist with the preparation of local, state, and federal tax filings and returns.
- Process payroll and ensure all deductions and tax withholdings are calculated accurately.
- Reconcile credit card statements and monitor expenses against the budget.
- Provide detailed financial reports and analysis to management to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in general accounting, with a strong preference for remote work experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) and advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of US tax laws and financial regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot discrepancies in financial data.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and clients.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.
