Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Accountant to join the Meridian Financial Partners team in Houston, Texas. As a remote-first organization, we offer the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to a dynamic and fast-growing financial environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial insights and support our growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.
- Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable duties, including invoicing and collections.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and budget forecasts.
- Support the tax preparation process by gathering necessary documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) to streamline financial operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CMA designation preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and accounting software.
- Excellent knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
