Responsibilities
- Process and distribute payroll on a weekly basis for all employees, ensuring 100% accuracy.
- Manage payroll tax filings, including federal, state, and local compliance (e.g., FLSA, ACA).
- Handle complex payroll adjustments, garnishments, and deductions accurately.
- Conduct regular payroll audits and reconcile payroll reports to general ledger accounts.
- Provide exceptional support to employees regarding pay inquiries, time-off requests, and benefits.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee and financial data.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to update payroll policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or Payroll Administrator.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance standards in California.
- Proficiency in payroll software (ADP Workforce Now, Paychex, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with time and attendance tracking systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts to non-finance staff.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
