Responsibilities
- Process semi-monthly payroll for all employees using ADP or QuickBooks, ensuring 100% accuracy in time tracking, deductions, and gross-to-net calculations.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, including the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual returns.
- Manage employee leave balances, workers' compensation claims, garnishments, and other voluntary deductions.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies or errors.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay stubs, W-2s, tax forms, and compensation details in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate closely with the HR department to maintain accurate personnel records and update employee information.
- Prepare payroll reports for management and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of proven experience in payroll processing, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Proficiency with payroll software (ADP Workforce Now, Paycor, or equivalent) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong working knowledge of FLSA regulations, wage and hour laws, and state-specific payroll requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with absolute confidentiality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and management.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources is preferred; equivalent experience is accepted.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines during month-end and year-end cycles.
