Responsibilities
- Process Payroll: Accurately calculate and process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all employees in compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and file necessary tax documents, including W-2s and 1099s, ensuring strict adherence to California and federal tax laws.
- Employee Inquiries: Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related questions, resolving discrepancies and providing exceptional customer service.
- Timekeeping Audits: Review time sheets and attendance records to ensure accuracy and proper authorization.
- System Management: Maintain and update payroll records in our HRIS system, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze payroll reports to assist management with budgeting and forecasting.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of payroll software (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Paycor, or QuickBooks Payroll).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and mathematical calculations.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts clearly.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of California labor laws, wage and hour regulations, and FLSA requirements.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or HR is preferred.
