Responsibilities
- Process Payroll: Accurately and timely process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all employees using ADP Workforce Now.
- Compliance Management: Ensure all payroll practices adhere to federal, state, and local laws, including FLSA, ACA, and Arizona tax regulations.
- Timekeeping Oversight: Review, verify, and approve timesheets and time-off requests to ensure data accuracy.
- Benefits Administration: Assist in the enrollment, changes, and administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, and 401(k).
- Tax Filing: Prepare and file quarterly and annual tax reports, including 941s and W-2s, in cooperation with external payroll tax vendors.
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related employee inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Reporting & Auditing: Generate and analyze payroll reports to identify trends and ensure financial accuracy through regular audits.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years of professional payroll processing experience, preferably in a high-volume or corporate environment.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of payroll software (ADP, Ceridian, or Paychex) and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and manage large amounts of data with high accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and management.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of payroll tax laws, wage and hour laws, and leave of absence regulations.
- Integrity: Strong ethical standards and confidentiality in handling sensitive employee information.
