Responsibilities
- Process Payroll: Execute accurate and timely payroll processing for a diverse workforce using [System Name, e.g., ADP Workforce Now] on a bi-weekly schedule.
- Compliance & Tax: Ensure all payroll taxes, garnishments, and deductions are calculated correctly and filed according to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, resolving discrepancies and answering questions regarding pay stubs and direct deposits.
- Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous payroll records, files, and documentation for internal audits and government reviews.
- Reporting: Prepare and analyze payroll reports, including headcount, tax liability, and compensation summaries for management.
- System Maintenance: Assist in the administration of HRIS systems, updating employee data, and maintaining organizational charts.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of hands-on payroll experience in a corporate environment.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of payroll software (e.g., ADP, UKG, Paychex) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources preferred; high school diploma required.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and a keen eye for identifying errors before processing.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and management.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of FLSA, FICA, and Colorado specific payroll laws.
