Responsibilities
- Process Payroll: Accurately calculate and process weekly or bi-weekly payroll for all employees using ADP or QuickBooks.
- Compliance Management: Ensure all payroll tax filings, including W-2s and 1099s, are completed accurately and submitted to the IRS and state authorities on time.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain up-to-date and organized employee records, including timesheets, personal data changes, and tax forms.
- Disbursement: Reconcile payroll bank statements and manage the distribution of paychecks and direct deposits.
- Issue Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll discrepancies, deductions, and general payroll inquiries.
- Reporting: Assist in the preparation of payroll reports for management and finance teams.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or a related administrative role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) and experience with payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or Ceridian).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors in data entry and ensure mathematical accuracy.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex payroll information clearly to staff.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of federal and state wage and hour laws.
