Role Overview
As our Payroll Clerk, you will be the gatekeeper of our employees' compensation. You will ensure that all payroll processes are executed with precision, compliance, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Process and distribute payroll for all employees accurately and on a timely basis, ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare necessary reports for management and external auditors.
- Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies, tax forms (W-2s), and direct deposit information.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings and reconciliation of payroll tax liabilities.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all payroll and employee data.
- Collaborate with the HR team to update employee records and ensure data integrity in HRIS systems.
- Process new hire setups and terminations related to payroll functions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing or a related accounting role.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws and payroll tax regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to answer employee questions clearly and professionally.
