Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for over 150 employees using ADP Workforce Now or Paychex Flex.
- Verify and audit time cards, overtime hours, and leave requests for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and distribute monthly pay statements, ensuring all deductions and taxes are calculated correctly.
- Assist with the preparation and filing of federal and state payroll tax forms (W-2s, 1099s, 941s).
- Handle complex payroll deductions, garnishments, and ensure strict adherence to FLSA regulations.
- Reconcile payroll bank statements and resolve any payroll discrepancies or discrepancies found in timekeeping systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and tax documents.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or a related administrative role.
- Proficiency with payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, or Ceridian.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state payroll tax laws, including Illinois specific regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and Google Workspace.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect and correct errors in large data sets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources is preferred.
