Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for over 150 employees using [Software Name] and ADP, ensuring 100% accuracy in calculations.
- Verify and input time cards, leave requests, and commission data into the payroll system.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, personnel files, and tax filings in compliance with FLSA and state laws.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, including variance analysis and year-to-date summaries for management review.
- Handle payroll tax filings, including quarterly and annual reconciliations, and communicate with state and federal agencies when necessary.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, resolving discrepancies and answering questions regarding pay stubs and deductions.
- Collaborate with the HR department to update employee status changes, tax forms (W-4s), and direct deposit information.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in payroll processing or a similar administrative role.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Paychex, or QuickBooks Payroll).
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations, including FICA, FUTA, and SUTA.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to detect errors before they are finalized.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality.
