We are looking for a dedicated professional to manage end-to-end payroll operations efficiently and confidentially.
Responsibilities
- Process Payroll: Execute weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing for over 200 employees using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring 100% accuracy in hours, wages, and deductions.
- Compliance & Tax: Maintain strict adherence to FLSA regulations, prepare, and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns, including 941 and state quarterly reports.
- Record Keeping: Maintain and update employee master files, including tax forms (W-4, I-9) and address changes, ensuring full compliance with HR documentation standards.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts and resolve payroll discrepancies or inquiries from staff and tax authorities promptly.
- Calculations: Calculate and process garnishments, commissions, bonuses, and benefits deductions accurately.
- Reporting: Assist the HR team with year-end reporting, including the preparation of W-2s and 1099s.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Associate Payroll Professional (APP) certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of progressive payroll processing experience, preferably within a mid-sized organization.
- Tax Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of federal and state labor laws, FLSA regulations, and payroll tax compliance requirements.
- Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and payroll software platforms (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paylocity).
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with an exceptional eye for detail and a high degree of accuracy in data entry.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, management, and tax authorities.
- Confidentiality: Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and data security standards at all times.
