Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and market trends to assess applicant creditworthiness
- Prepare comprehensive credit memos with risk ratings and recommendations for approval/decline
- Monitor existing portfolios for compliance with lending policies and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with loan officers to structure optimal financing solutions for clients
- Stay updated on industry regulations, economic indicators, and market conditions
- Document all credit analysis activities in compliance with internal audit standards
- Participate in cross-departmental projects to enhance credit risk frameworks
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
- 2+ years of credit analysis or underwriting experience (part-time acceptable)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, financial modeling)
- Strong understanding of GAAP, credit scoring models, and risk assessment methodologies
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication skills for presenting complex financial information
- Familiarity with credit reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion)
