Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, specifically within Virginia.
- Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Develop, implement, and update compliance policies and procedures to reflect changing regulations.
- Train staff members on compliance requirements, ethical standards, and reporting procedures.
- Investigate reported violations and recommend corrective actions to management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities and audit results.
- Prepare and submit required compliance reports to regulatory bodies and senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant compliance certification (e.g., CCE, CAMS, CRCM) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in compliance, auditing, or risk management.
- Strong working knowledge of Virginia state financial regulations and federal banking laws.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance management software.
