Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, including processing invoices and ensuring timely payments.
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliation to ensure account balances are accurate and up-to-date.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports and financial statements for management review.
- Maintain and update the company's general ledger using accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage).
- Process payroll for a small team of employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Reconcile credit card statements and expense reports to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Assist the Senior Accountant with tax preparation filings and audit support.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero is required; experience with NetSuite or Sage is a plus.
- Education: Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting standards.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for spotting errors and discrepancies.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Organization: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines efficiently.
