Responsibilities
- Manage Daily Transactions: Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all invoices are recorded accurately and payments are made on time.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure all financial records match bank statements and identify discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, trial balances, and monthly reports for clients.
- Payroll Support: Handle payroll processing for small to mid-sized businesses, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries regarding financial statements and account status.
- Tax Preparation Assistance: Support the tax team during tax season by gathering necessary financial data and organizing schedules.
- Software Management: Maintain and update client records using modern accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage).
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a part-time or freelance capacity.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Xero is required.
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or Bookkeeping Certification is highly preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to spot errors and ensure data integrity.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Reliability: Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Legal Status: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
