Responsibilities
- Core Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and credit card statement reviews to ensure data accuracy.
- Payroll Support: Assist with processing payroll for a small portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Reporting: Generate financial reports, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets for review by senior management.
- Invoice Management: Create and send professional invoices, track outstanding payments, and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Compliance: Ensure all bookkeeping activities adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience.
- Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in QuickBooks Online and/or Xero. Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups) are essential.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and maintain high data integrity standards.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction.
- Reliability: Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a part-time capacity.
