Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with meticulous attention to detail
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions within established deadlines
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis for client review
- Manage payroll processing and tax filings for small business clients
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure financial compliance
- Utilize QuickBooks Online for daily bookkeeping operations
- Assist with quarterly tax preparation and year-end audits
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve cash flow
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor's preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience in QuickBooks Online
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with advanced formula knowledge
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and Illinois tax regulations
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or QuickBooks ProAdvisor designation a plus
- Exceptional analytical skills and numerical accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills for client interactions
