Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts on a monthly basis.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets.
- Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payment of employees.
- Bookkeeping Systems: Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) to manage daily transactions and reporting.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Documentation: Organize and file financial documents, invoices, and receipts for audit purposes.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a part-time or freelance capacity.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software. Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) are required.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and financial analysis.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data clearly.
- Reliability: Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to meet deadlines independently.
