Responsibilities
- Manage daily bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss reports.
- Process payroll for multiple clients with high accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations and filing requirements.
- Maintain and organize physical and digital filing systems.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related financial role.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, formatting, and data analysis).
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to catch errors before they become issues.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial team members.
