Responsibilities
- Reconcile Accounts: Monthly reconciliation of bank statements and credit card accounts to ensure accuracy and detect discrepancies.
- Accounts Management: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including issuing invoices and processing payments.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, profit and loss reports, and balance sheets.
- Bookkeeping Software: Manage and update client records using QuickBooks Online and Xero.
- Payroll Support: Process payroll for small business clients, ensuring tax withholdings and deductions are calculated correctly.
- Banking: Prepare and deposit checks, initiate wire transfers, and manage petty cash funds.
- Compliance: Maintain organized files and ensure all financial records comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or a similar role.
- Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure data accuracy in high-volume environments.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients and internal teams.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Self-Starter: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
