Responsibilities
- Process and verify incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and authorization.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any billing discrepancies or errors.
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date digital and physical filing system for all AP documents.
- Prepare checks or initiate electronic payments via banking systems.
- Assist with month-end close procedures, including accruals and reconciliations.
- Communicate professionally with vendors regarding payment status and inquiries.
- Update and maintain the AP general ledger accounts.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
- Previous experience in Accounts Payable, General Ledger, or bookkeeping is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot errors quickly.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid part-time capacity.
