Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping & Reconciliation: Manage daily bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, for internal review and client reporting.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements monthly to ensure data integrity.
- Payroll Support: Assist with the preparation and processing of payroll for select clients, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Tax Preparation: Support the preparation of quarterly tax filings and annual tax returns under the supervision of senior staff.
- Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GAAP and local tax laws to ensure full compliance.
- Software Management: Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) to streamline financial workflows.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in a public accounting firm or corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software is mandatory.
- Excel Skills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas, is highly desired.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure data accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
- Availability: Must be available for a consistent part-time schedule (e.g., 20-25 hours per week).
